The Sugar Foot isn't lighter or faster, but it's honest and beautiful and capable. We love riding it, we love looking at it, and we like living with it. It's soulful and provides a wonderful juxtaposition to the other bikes in our household.
It combines timeless aesthetics with sporty, fun, and playful handling. It's a classic All-Arounder updated according to our preferences and beliefs. This is the bike for people who dig the look, simplicity, and styling of rim brakes and lugs, but who aren't willing to compromise performance. A beautifully styled, ultra comfortable, elegant, and capable 650b racer. Perfect for long days and big dreams on dirt or pavement.
While it has the attachment points for full on touring, the lightweight tubeset and geometry of the Sugar Foot is in tune with more minimalist loads. We'd recommend keeping it to 25lbs or less for best results. We ride ours with a traditional handlebar bag to great results.
It features a Richard Sachs designed lugset, a Pacenti fork crown, Columbus tubing, and Paragon Machine Works frame parts. The gorgeous Imron paint job is applied by Rick over at D&D Cycles.
Of note, rear spacing is 132.5mm to work with either 135mm MTB hubs or 130mm road hubs. This is an easy way of letting opinionated people run their favorite setup. We haven't found any downsides to this arrangement.
